Active Commissioning
The commissioning environment built on your project's own equipment, checklists, and documents, from equipment turnover through the final commissioning report
Struxen Active Commissioning (ACx) is a product for the team proving a building's systems work before turnover: the commissioning authority (CxA), an owner's rep, and the trades, controls contractors, and design engineers they bring into the project. It runs on the same project record as everything else in Struxen: the equipment you track, the checklists you complete, and the issues you raise all live in the project you already have open, next to the drawings and specs that back them up.
Open it from COMMISSIONING in the left rail. Hovering the row shows its modules; clicking it lands you on the readiness overview, which is Commissioning's home.
The modules
| Module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Equipment & Systems | The equipment turnover register, built from the drawings, grouped into Systems and Locations. |
| Checklists | Pre-functional, installation, and startup checklists, completed in the field. |
| Functional Tests | Functional performance tests against expected values, plus TAB report verification against the design. |
| Issues Log | Deficiencies raised against equipment, checklists, or a site visit, tracked to close-out. |
| Site Visits | Numbered field reports: attendees, weather, narrative, photos, and follow-ups. |
| Document Review | The project's specs, schedules, submittals, and OPR/BOD reviewed with page-anchored comments. |
| Reports | The site visit report and the final commissioning report, plus the issues log, review comment log, and checklist and test record exports. |
| Templates | A seeded checklist library plus AI-drafted templates written from your own specifications. |

Built on your project, not a copy of it
Commissioning does not keep a second set of records next to your project's existing ones. It is a working view over the same primitives, scoped to commissioning:
- Equipment & Systems is its own register, purpose-built for turnover tracking. Everything else works off it.
- Checklists and Functional Tests run on the same inspection engine as every other checklist in Struxen. A commissioning checklist has a retest history, photos, and signatures exactly like an inspection anywhere else in the product, filtered here to commissioning's own template types.
- Issues Log is your project's Observations, filtered to the Commissioning category. An issue raised here shows up in the same ball-in-court and distribution flow as any other observation, and an issue logged elsewhere in the project under the Commissioning category shows up here.
- Document Review does not import or duplicate documents. It is the project's own Documents register, narrowed to what a commissioning review actually touches, with a review state and comments layered on top.
Every product has a plan
Commissioning is a separate paid product from CORE, LEDGER, STRUX, and VANTAGE. It is turned on per project, and organizations built around commissioning work can run on Commissioning alone, with no other product's base fee. See Billing and access.
