Forma / ACC
Connect Autodesk Construction Cloud and sync drawings, specs, and sheets into Struxen.
Forma / ACC
Forma is Struxen's connector for Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360. Once connected, you can pull drawings, specifications, sheets, and submittals from your ACC project into Struxen without re-uploading.
What you need before connecting
- An ACC or BIM 360 account with Account Admin access on at least one hub (the connector requires hub-level scope to enumerate projects).
- The ACC project you want to sync should already exist with documents uploaded to Document Management.
- A Struxen project to connect into (create one first if needed — see Getting Started).
Security note: ACC Custom Integrations grant full hub admin scope. We recommend reviewing the connector's scope with your IT security team before installing in production environments.
Connecting your hub
- In Struxen, open the project you want to connect, then click Settings → Integrations → Forma / ACC.
- Click Connect Autodesk. You will be redirected to Autodesk's sign-in page.
- Sign in with the Autodesk identity that has Account Admin on the target hub.
- On the Autodesk consent screen, review the requested scopes and click Allow. You will be redirected back to Struxen.
- Pick the Hub and then the ACC Project you want to import from.
- Choose what to sync:
- Sheets — published drawing sheets from the Sheets tool
- Document Management folders — pick specific folders to mirror
- Submittals — open and closed submittal records
- Click Start Sync. Forma queues an import job and you will see a status banner on the project dashboard while it runs.
A typical first sync of 200–500 sheets completes in 5–15 minutes.
What gets synced
| ACC artifact | Imported as | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet (Sheets tool) | Document, classified as drawing | Sheet number and title preserved |
| DM PDF | Document | Folder structure mirrored as Struxen folders |
| DM DOCX / XLSX | Document | Same INGRESS pipeline as direct uploads |
| Submittal | RFI/Submittal record | Linked back to ACC by ID |
| Sheet version | Document version | New ACC versions appear as new Struxen versions |
Every imported document carries an ACC source link in its detail panel, so you can jump back to the ACC original at any time.
Re-syncing
Forma does not currently auto-sync on a schedule. To pull the latest changes from ACC, open Settings → Integrations → Forma / ACC and click Re-sync. New and changed documents are imported; unchanged documents are skipped.
Disconnecting
To remove the connection:
- Open Settings → Integrations → Forma / ACC.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm. Struxen revokes its OAuth tokens and stops the connector.
Disconnecting does not delete documents that were already imported — they remain in your Struxen project. To remove them, delete from the Documents tab.
To revoke Struxen's access from the Autodesk side, go to your Autodesk account → Authorized Apps and remove the Struxen app.
Troubleshooting
"Hub list is empty after connecting." The Autodesk identity you signed in with does not have Account Admin on any hub. Switch to an admin account or ask your Autodesk admin to grant the role.
"Sheet downloads failing." ACC's Sheets Export API has known intermittent issues on the Autodesk side. Forma falls back to Document Management search to download the same PDFs. If the fallback also fails, the sheet is flagged in the import log — re-run the sync later.
"Some folders are missing from the picker." Forma only shows folders the connecting identity can read. Confirm the user has access in ACC, then disconnect and reconnect.
"Imported drawing has wrong title." ACC stores the human-readable
title in the uploadFileName field, not always in title. Forma
prefers uploadFileName when present. If a title is still wrong, edit
it inline in the Documents row.
